Child kidnapped in Chattogram's Patiya, Tk 300,000 ransom demanded
Dhaka, June 17 -- A five-year-old child has allegedly been kidnapped from Patiya Upazila in Chattogram, with the kidnappers leaving behind a handwritten note demanding a ransom of Tk 300,000 for his safe release.
The child, identified as Md Zayan, went missing on Tuesday afternoon from outside his residence in Dakshin Gobindarkhil village under the Patiya municipality, his family said.
Zayan's father Md Shahjahan, a garage owner, told local journalists that his son went missing around noon.
At 3:30pm, he found a handwritten note inside his house demanding Tk 300,000 as ransom.
He later filed a complaint at Patiya Police Station after failing to trace the child until evening.
