Dhaka, May 10 -- The Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal has raised alarm over a late-night protest at Eden Mohila College, alleging that a demonstration demanding a complete ban on student politics was in fact instigated by Islami Chhatri Sangstha, the women's wing of Islami Chhatra Shibir.

In a statement and social media posts on Sunday, Chhatra Dal claimed that its activists were being harassed under the guise of "general students", allegedly mobilised by what it described as clandestine political operatives.

Around 11pm on Saturday, a group of students broke open the main gate of the college and staged a protest calling for a complete ban on political activities on campus.
