Bangladesh, May 28 -- Eid-ul-Azha prayers have been held in Chattogram with calls for people to embrace the spirit of sacrifice and work towards building a discrimination-free society.

On Thursday at 7am, the city's first and main Eid congregation took place at the Jamiatul Falah National Mosque premises.

The prayer was led by the mosque's Khatib Hazratul Allama Syed Abu Taleb Md Alauddin Al Qaderi.

The second congregation was held at 8am, led by the mosque's Pesh Imam Hafez Maulana Mohammad Ahmadul Haque.

Though rain pelted down on the port city over the preceding two days, the skies cleared up on Eid morning, allowing devotees to walk to the Eidgah under bright sunshine without running into any disruptions.
