Century-old Japanese bookchain Kinokuniya opens in Dhaka's Uttara
Dhaka, July 3 -- Rows of neatly arranged books, clearly labelled shelves and a quiet reading atmosphere have greeted visitors at the newly opened Kinokuniya bookstore in Dhaka, bringing one of Japan's best-known book chains to Bangladesh.
The Tokyo-based retailer has opened its first Bangladeshi outlet at Centrepoint in Uttara after launching on Jun 19, offering an extensive collection of international publications, Japanese manga and premium stationery.
The store features dedicated sections for fiction, non-fiction, social sciences, economics, business, philosophy, fantasy, cookery, travel, lifestyle, comics and language learning, alongside books by internationally acclaimed authors in several languages.
