Dhaka, June 11 -- The cabinet of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's government has approved a Tk 9.38 trillion budget for the new financial year.

The finance minister is set to place it before parliament later on Thursday.

The 2026-27 budget was approved at a cabinet meeting that began at 10am at the parliament building, presided over by the premier.

After the session wrapped up around 1pm, Tarique's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman confirmed that the cabinet greenlighted the budget proposals.
