Dhaka, April 12 -- In a scene that left locals both startled and amused, an injured Hanuman langur has sought treatment at a hospital in Jhikargachha Upazila of Jashore after reportedly making earlier stops at a health complex and a police station.

The langur, bearing bruises along its back, walked into the hospital's emergency room on Sunday afternoon and perched quietly on a table, said Upazila Livestock Officer Masuma Akhtar.

What followed was a curious display of instinct - or perhaps desperation.

The animal later wandered into the pharmacy, opening medicine bottles and sniffing their contents, as if searching for relief.
