Dhaka, April 19 -- The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has held a meeting with stakeholders to determine how much bus and truck fares should increase following the recent fuel price hike.

The meeting began at 7:20pm on Sunday at the BRTA office in Dhaka's Banani.

An official present at the meeting told bdnews24.com that discussions were under way on revising fares for diesel-run buses and minibuses.

He said transport owners' associations are expected to submit their proposals for a revised fare structure, which will then be analysed by the regulatory body.

The meeting is being chaired by BRTA Chairman Meer Ahemed Tariqul Omar.
