Dhaka, March 9 -- The government has initiated a major administrative overhaul at the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), reassigning a dozen officials following the removal of two top directors.

The reshuffle comes amid heightened concerns over the country's fuel supply chain as the conflict in the Middle East continues to destabilise global energy markets.

The state-run agency responsible for importing and supplying fuel oil in Bangladesh issued the transfer orders on Sunday, affecting officials at the corporation and its subsidiary companies.

The changes follow the decision to make two BPC directors Officer on Special Duty (OSD) last Thursday.
