Dhaka, March 19 -- Police have recovered the bodies of a young mother and her 4-year-old daughter, who had been missing for the last few days, in Bandarban town.

Their bodies were found on Thursday afternoon, said Bandarban Sadar Circle Police chief Manna Dey.

The mother was identified as Ngosanu Marma, 22, but the name of the child had yet to be confirmed. They were residents of the Sadar Upazila.

"Upon recovering the bodies, they were sent to Bandarban Sadar Hospital for inquest reports and postmortem examination," the police officer said.

"We are speaking to their family and are trying to collect information and video footage. We will be able to understand the situation after we gather it.
