Dhaka, April 18 -- The remains of 34 Bangladeshi expatriates have arrived in Dhaka on separate flights from Kuwait, Malaysia, and Libya after being stranded abroad for an extended period.

The bodies reached Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday, according to a press release from the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment.

While the ministry confirmed that all 34 individuals died of natural causes, their repatriation was significantly delayed.

The ongoing war and geopolitical instability in the Middle East had caused the remains to be held in their respective host countries for a long duration.
