Dhaka, May 9 -- The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has handed over the bodies of two Bangladeshi men whom they shot dead along the Kasba Upazila border in Brahmanbaria.

The handover took place on Saturday following a battalion-level flag meeting, nearly 18 hours after the incident.

The dead were identified as Mohammad Mursalin, 20, of Dhajonagar village, and Nabir Hossain, 55, of Madhupur village.

According to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), the incident occurred around 1am on Friday near the Dhajonagar-Pathariaduar border.

BGB officials said about 15 people had entered approximately 200 yards into Indian territory to engage in "smuggling" with Indian counterparts.
