Dhaka, Feb. 19 -- BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan has joined the daily Shomoyer Alo as advisory editor.

He formally took up the role at the newspaper's office in Bangla Motor on Thursday afternoon, where acting editor Shahnewaz Karim and other staff members welcomed him with flowers.

Earlier in the day, Amin Group Managing Director Md Ramzanul Haque Nihad handed over the appointment letter to Shairul in Dhanmondi.

Born in Netrokona, Shairul began his career in journalism with the Daily Dinkal.

He is also among the founders of the Netrokona Press Club.

Alongside journalism, he has long been active in politics aligned with the BNP, and has served as a member of the party chairperson's media wing and the chairman's media cell....
