Dhaka, March 23 -- Social Welfare Minister AZM Zahid Hossain says that the condition of BNP leader Mirza Abbas has improved during his treatment at Singapore General Hospital.

On Monday, he said: "I have spoken to the doctors. They say they are seeing positive signs on different parameters. His condition is improving, Alhamdullilah."

"It is a matter of the brain. It will take a little time. I ask everyone to pray for him."

Abbas, the political advisor to the prime minister, was taken to Singapore from Dhaka via air ambulance on Mar 15.
