Dhaka, May 7 -- National Citizen Party (NCP) Convenor Nahid Islam has called for accountability over the recent measles outbreak in Bangladesh that has reportedly claimed the lives of more than 100 children.

Nahid, who served as an advisor in the Muhammad Yunus-led interim government, said those genuinely responsible for the crisis must be brought to justice.

He made the comments during an NCP event at the Chattogram Press Club on Thursday.

"The current government cannot avoid responsibility simply by blaming the previous administration," he said, urging authorities to investigate the matter and take action against those found responsible.
