Dhaka, April 30 -- Biman Bangladesh Airlines has signed a deal with Boeing to purchase 14 aircraft amid ongoing discussions over fleet expansion, with the total cost estimated at $3.7 billion, or Tk 458.08 billion.
The agreement was signed at a hotel in Dhaka on Thursday night, according to the national flag carrier.
The order includes 10 wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 4 narrow-body Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, aimed at strengthening long-haul and regional operations.
Biman's Managing Director and CEO Kaizer Sohel Ahmed said the new aircraft, which are fuel-efficient and technologically advanced, will support fleet modernisation, strengthen operational capacity, and help expand the airline's international route network.
