Dhaka, March 28 -- The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed at 19 fuel depots across nine districts to prevent hoarding, maintain order in distribution, and ensure uninterrupted fuel supply.

According to a statement from the BGB Headquarters, the deployment on Wednesday followed directives from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

It cited the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, rising global oil prices, and attempts to stockpile fuel illegally as reasons for the heightened security.

The BGB personnel are operating under the supervision of the headquarters to secure the depots.

To facilitate operations in remote locations, temporary base camps have been established, from which officers conduct continuous oversight.
