BGB says multiple groups pushed back in border operations across frontier points
Dhaka, June 6 -- The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) says it has foiled eight attempts by India's Border Security Force (BSF) to push individuals into Bangladesh in different frontier points over the past 24 hours.
In a statement on Saturday, the BGB said no individual or group will be allowed to enter Bangladesh "illegally" through the border.
It added, "The BGB remains firmly committed to protecting the country's sovereignty and border security and is fully prepared to respond to any situation."
According to the statement, the attempted push-ins were prevented across several operational zones:
