BGB blocks BSF 'push-in' of 12 at Kushtia border
Dhaka, June 12 -- The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has thwarted an attempt by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) to push 12 people, including women and children, into the country through the Kushtia frontier.
The victims are currently stranded along the zero line of the international border.
The incident occurred early on Friday at the Charbilgathua border in Pragpur Union, said Daulatpur Police chief Arifur Rahman.
The BGB personnel and local residents said the group was pushed through Charmeghna border under Hoglabaria Police Station in Nadia district of India's West Bengal.
After spotting them, locals intervened and, with BGB assistance, sent them back towards the area adjacent to border pillar 148.
