Dhaka, April 7 -- Hours after his appointment as the chief of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Tamim Iqbal has announced that he will contest in the next election of the board, planned to be held in three months.
He made it clear at a press conference at the BCB office on Tuesday evening after convening the first meeting of a new 11-member ad hoc committee.
He, however, did not confirm whether he would hold the post during the election.
He also asked everyone interested to participate in the election.
"Of course, we will contest in elections. Here, I need to be asked personally. I may be interested and I can run [for the position]," he said.
