Bangladeshi expatriate dies after car hit by train in southern Portugal
Dhaka, May 15 -- A Bangladeshi expatriate has been killed after a passenger train hit a car in the southern Portuguese city of Algarve.
The victim was identified as Ram Prasad Sarkar, 36, from Mirzapur Upazila in Tangail.
The crash took place on Thursday local time in Mexilhoeira Grande, leaving four other Bangladeshi nationals injured.
According to local media reports, five Bangladeshi nationals were in the car when it was hit by a passenger train at a railway crossing.
The vehicle was badly damaged in the accident and Ram Prasad died at the scene.
Four other Bangladeshi nationals, aged between 31 and 49, were rescued from the wreckage and rushed to hospitals in Portimoo and Faro.
