Dhaka, May 16 -- Actress and content creator Kaarina Kaisar, who was flown to India's Chennai for advanced treatment for lung and liver complications, has died.

Her father, former national football team captain Mohammad Kaisar Hamid, announced her passing in a post on Facebook early on Saturday morning.

He wrote, "It is with great sadness that I inform you that my beloved daughter Kaarina Kaisar has passed away while undergoing treatment in Chennai a short while ago.

"If my daughter made any mistakes or hurt anyone, please forgive her. I express my gratitude to those who have been by our side, prayed for us, and cooperated with us during this difficult time."
