Dhaka, July 3 -- The Power Ministry has pledged a thorough investigation into complaints of inflated electricity bills for June, warning of strict action if any misconduct by utility officials is proven.

The warning came during a review meeting of the Power Division with divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners (DCs), and officials from electricity distribution agencies and companies, the ministry said on Thursday.

The virtual meeting, held on Zoom, also reviewed load-shedding, sought explanations for the unusually high electricity bills reported in June, gathered field-level feedback on power outages, and discussed the latest progress in installing meters for rooftop solar systems.
