Dhaka, Sept. 28 -- Nepal's rain-battered mountains have prompted a travel warning from Bangladesh, with the embassy in Kathmandu urging tourists to steer clear of flood- and landslide-hit areas until conditions improve.

In a notice on Monday, the embassy urged tourists and trekkers to reconsider trips to the affected areas, citing deteriorating weather and difficult travel conditions.

The embassy has specifically advised extra caution around Pisang, Chame, Manang and nearby tourist destinations, saying continued rain and snowfall have disrupted roads in several areas and made rescue operations difficult because of the challenging terrain.
