Dhaka, April 13 -- State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj has announced that the government will provide free school uniforms to all primary school students across Bangladesh.

Speaking at a dialogue in Dhaka on Monday, the state minister said the initiative follows a directive from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

"We have started working towards this goal. Students will receive free uniforms once a year," Bobby said.

"We believe that during the current government's tenure, we will be able to provide free uniforms to every primary school in the country in phases," he added.
