Dhaka, April 9 -- A QR code-based "Fuel Pass" app has been introduced to modernise the fuel supply system, aiming to ensure transparency and bring discipline to filling stations across Bangladesh.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources said the app, developed under the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation, is being piloted at two filling stations in Dhaka -- Trust in Tejgaon and Sonar Bangla in Asad Gate -- initially for motorcycle owners and riders.

It added that after successful piloting, the app will gradually be available for all vehicles nationwide.

According to the ministry, delays and disruptions are occurring due to manual processes in fuel distribution.
