Bangladesh, Aug. 30 -- Bangladesh has recorded three more deaths from dengue in a 24-hour count, taking this year's official toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 93.

Hospitals across the country admitted 1,097 fresh patients during the period, marking the highest single-day count so far this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the 93 dead, the highest monthly toll of 39 deaths was recorded with one day still remaining in August, surpassing the 36 fatalities recorded in July, the health directorate said in a bulletin issued on Sunday.

Moreover, 19,373 patients have been admitted to hospital so far this month, up from 9,206 hospitalisations in July.
