Dhaka, June 27 -- A Bangladeshi couple and their 5-year-old daughter have been stabbed to death inside their Rome apartment, while the family's teenage son survived after fleeing the attack.

The members of the family were natives of Basurhat in Noakhali.

According to Italy's state news agency ANSA and local media, the killings took place late Friday night inside a residential flat on Via Montilio Road, near Pineta Sacchetti in western Rome.

The family's patriarch, the deceased Kamal Hossain, had been living in Italy with his family for a long time.

An unidentified man reportedly entered the flat armed with a weapon and attacked the family members.

Kamal, his wife, and their daughter were allegedly killed on the spot.
