Dhaka, May 4 -- The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has ordered its members to be vigilant to prevent infiltration during the counting of votes in elections in four Indian states, including West Bengal.

In an advisory on Monday night, the para-military force said: "The BGB is always alert to prevent any kind of infiltration across the border."

The BGB advisory, however, did not detail much about the measure.

BGB Deputy Director General (Media) Col Abul Hasnat Mohammad Mahmud Azam told bdnews24.com, "This message has been given considering the current elections in West Bengal, and the overall situation in Myanmar.

"This is our regular message. The BGB is always vigilant to maintain strong border security. This is nothing new."
