Dhaka, April 21 -- Residents of Dhaka and other parts of the country reported feeling tremors from a moderate earthquake early on Tuesday morning.
The quake measured 5.0 on the Richter scale, according to the Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
People across the country took to social media to post about the quake.
The monitoring centre said the earthquake struck at 6:29:36am on Tuesday and that its epicentre was 436km north-east of Dhaka in the Indian state of Manipur.
