Bangladesh cuts furnace oil price by Tk 4.44 a litre
Dhaka, June 30 -- The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the price of furnace oil by Tk 4.44 per liter, setting the rate at Tk 109.10.
The new price will come into effect from 12 midnight on Tuesday, a media statement reads.
The previous price of the fuel oil supplied by the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) was Tk 113.54 per litre.
The new rate will apply to the Bangladesh Power Development Board, other state-run and private power generation plants, industrial units and other customers.
Referring to a Feb 22 decision, the BERC said furnace oil prices can be adjusted every three months or as needed.
