Another body recovered from Meghna River, pushing Narsingdi clash death up
Dhaka, June 18 -- Police have recovered the body of another man who is believed to have been killed in a clash between two rival groups fighting over turf in Narsingdi's Raipura Upazila.
The death toll from the violence now stands at four, local sources say.
On Thursday afternoon, the body was recovered from the Meghna River in the Gopinathpur area of Nilakshya Union in the Upazila, according to Raipura Police Station chief (OC) Md Mujibur Rahman.
The deceased, Abdul Latif, 35, was a native of Birgaon Kandapara village in the same union. He was wearing a police vest.
According to locals, the death toll from the clash has risen to four. However, officer Mujibur said that police have so far recovered three bodies.
