Dhaka, March 16 -- Chattogram Range's Deputy Inspector General Ahsan Habib Palash has been appointed director general of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) as part of a continuing reshuffle in the administration under the new government.

There have also been changes in the leadership of the police's Special Branch (SB), and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The decision was announced in an order issued by the home ministry on Monday.

Under the order, Additional Inspector General at Police Headquarters Sarder Nurul Amin has been appointed chief of the Special Branch (SB), while Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, another additional inspector general at Police Headquarters, has been made chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
