Bangladesh, July 22 -- Nearly 25 years after his death, renowned writer and public intellectual Ahmed Sofa has found a new resting place at the Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard in Mirpur.

The relocation was completed on Wednesday afternoon under the supervision of the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).

DNCC Social Welfare Officer Goutam Kumar Biswas told bdnews24.com that the transfer of Ahmed Sofa's remains to the Martyred Intellectuals Cemetery was completed on Wednesday.

In response to a question from the correspondent, he said the process began around 11am.

"There was a slight delay due to rain. The work was completed between approximately 12:30pm and 12:45pm," Biswas said.
