Dhaka, April 17 -- Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, the prime minister's advisor on economic affairs and planning has warned of intensifying public suffering in the coming days, citing the lingering impact of high inflation over the past three years.
Speaking at a discussion at the Faridpur deputy commissioner's conference room on Friday, the advisor highlighted that the current government assumed office under exceptionally hostile economic conditions.
The advisor pointed out that the sustained inflationary pressure has already led to a rise in the number of people living in poverty across the country.
"This trend may cause even more suffering in the days ahead, potentially pushing more citizens below the poverty line," Titumir said.
