Advani, Jaishankar, Dhankhar among top figures issued SIR notices
Dhaka, Sept. 21 -- Former deputy prime minister LK Advani, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, former vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar and Election Commissioner SS Sandhu are among several prominent voters issued notices over "discrepancies" in details submitted during New Delhi's ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, according to the Indian Express.
Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal, who received a notice along with his wife under the "unmapped with last SIR" category, criticised the Election Commission, describing the exercise as "special intensive deletion" of votes.
