Dhaka, Sept. 29 -- Police have allegedly come under attack with machetes while conducting an operation to arrest suspects accused of attempting to seize a building in a land dispute in Dhaka's Adabor.

During the incident, two people were shot and injured by police. Law enforcers said they opened fire "in self-defence."

Police have arrested four people.

The incident took place around 2am on Tuesday at a canal near the Nabodoy Housing kitchen market in Adabor, said Adabor Police Station chief Zahidul Islam Jahangir.
