Dhaka, June 7 -- Ad-din Medical Hospital College is going to "pay Tk 8 million" in compensation to each of the families of six newborns who died at its facility.

The compensation amount was determined through joint discussions between the families and hospital authorities, said Shishir Manir, a lawyer representing the hospital.

Speaking to reporters at the Supreme Court on Sunday, Shishir said other benefits and support measures previously announced by the hospital would remain in place as well.

He added that each family had already been paid Tk 1 million.
