Dhaka, March 12 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has brought charges against 11 police officers over "embezzling nearly Tk 40 million" from the ration centre of Jhalakathi Police Lines by creating 252 forged ration cards.
ACC Assistant Director Md Zakir Hossain lodged the case on Thursday at the Pirojpur Integrated District Office.
Those facing charges include ration centre's former manager Alauddin; inspectors Arif Mahmud, Md Al Mamun, Md Rezaul Karim, and Kazi Rajiul Zaman; constables Md Atiur Rahman, Md Saiful Islam, and Mehedi Hasan; office assistant Md Towfiq, storekeeper Md Zahir Uddin, and sales associate Syed Jashim Uddin.
