Dhaka, March 9 -- Motaher Hossain, a director general (DG) of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), has been mugged near Dhaka Residential Model College in Mohammadpur.

The incident occurred around 10:30pm on Saturday, when three muggers intercepted and assaulted him, while he was taking a stroll after the Taraweeh prayer.

The attackers snatched away his phone, wallet, and watch.

According to the case filed over the statement, the unidentified attackers, armed with cleavers and samurai swords, threatened Motaher and made off with an iPhone, a wristwatch, and a wallet containing Tk 20,000.

The muggers reportedly beat the ACC official to extract his iPhone passcode.
