Dhaka, March 20 -- A security guard in Pallabi slit the throats of his two young sons and then attempted to take his own life, reportedly driven by poverty, ongoing family conflict, and his inability to meet his children's demands.

The incident occurred about a year and a half ago in the Baigartek area of Pallabi. While the father, Ahad, survived, both of his children died.

Following the gruesome incident, Ahad's wife Rozina Begum-who works as a cook in various mess facilities-filed a case against her husband at Pallabi Police Station. Police later arrested Ahad.

After losing her two children at the hands of her husband and her father a few months later, Rozina has been left devastated. She now waits for justice.
