Dhaka, Sept. 17 -- The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch (DB) has arrested six people who were allegedly preparing to commit a robbery while posing as police detectives near the Shahbagh Metro Station.

They were arrested during a raid around 10:15pm on Tuesday beneath the station, opposite BIRDEM Hospital, DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Aktar Hossain said in a statement on Thursday.

The arrestees are Jewel Mridha, 38, Ramiz Talukdar, 36, Jasim Talukdar alias Riaz, 46, Rahman Hawladar, 39, Billal, 32, and Maruf, 38.
