Dhaka, Oct. 3 -- Bangladesh has reported six more deaths from dengue, while another 1,608 hospital admissions from the Aedes mosquito-borne disease have been logged in the latest 24-hour count.

This takes the total death toll from the disease this year to 256, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The health directorate bulletin on Saturday said that 171 patients were admitted to hospitals in the Dhaka North City Corporation and 223 in Dhaka South during the period.

Outside the two city corporations, 131 patients were admitted in other hospitals across the Dhaka Division.
