Dhaka, March 9 -- The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested a drug dealer carrying different types of Indian liquor during a raid in the Jhenaigati border area of Sherpur.
On Sunday, based on a tip-off, a team led by Nayek Nazmul of the Karnajhora Border Outpost of the 39th BGB conducted the raid on the Dudhnai-Dhanshail road in the Guru Charan Dudhnai area of Kangsha Union.
Nayek Subedar Saidur Rahman, in-charge of the Karnajhora BOP, said that arrestee 36-year-old Akash hails from the Tatihati area of Sribardi Upazila.
He said, "Akash was arrested in the operation along with a yellow pickup van filled with 545 bottles of Indian liquor."
"The market value of the seized liquor and vehicle stands at Tk 2.3 million"
