Dhaka, June 7 -- An earthquake has been felt in Dhaka and several other parts of Bangladesh, causing brief concern among residents.

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), a France-based earthquake monitoring agency, the tremor measured 5.6 in magnitude on Sunday.

The agency said the earthquake's epicentre was located in Bhutan.
