Dhaka, March 9 -- Two sides have engaged in a clash at night in Madaripur using torches over a power struggle in the area. Over 100 crude bombs were detonated amid the violence.

The four-hour clash occurred in the municipality's "New Madaripur" area from 9pm to 1am, according to Madaripur Sadar Police Station chief (OC) Abul Kalam Azad.

Video footage of several crude bomb explosions have gone viral on Facebook. Once the incident was reported, police went to the scene and brought the situation under control.
