Dhaka, April 13 -- A Dhaka court has placed four associates of Jatiotabadi Jubo Dal leader Moin Uddin on a four-day remand in a case involving an extortion attempt at the CKD Urology Hospital, founded by renowned kidney specialist Prof Kamrul Islam.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ariful Islam passed the order after the investigating officer sought seven days to interrogate the suspects in custody.

The remanded suspects are Faruk Hossain Suman, Liton Mia, Falan Mia, and Md Rubel, confirmed Prosecution Police Sub-Inspector Rafiqul Islam.

Dhaka Metropolitan Public Prosecutor Omar Faruq Faruqi argued in favour of the remand, while defence counsel Kazi Akramul Huda Suman moved for bail.
