36 missing children found dead in 8 months: ASK
Dhaka, Sept. 20 -- Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) has expressed concern over the recovery of the bodies of 36 missing children across Bangladesh in the first eight months of this year.
Citing the recovery of the body of 13-year-old school student Ishayat Shahriar Apratim, who went missing in Cumilla, the rights organisation said on Sunday that recent incidents involving missing children, rape and murder, torture, and other forms of violence have raised serious concerns about their safety.
"Between January and August, the bodies of 36 children were recovered after they had gone missing.
"During the same period, ASK's monitoring recorded the deaths of a total of 254 children in different incidents," it said.
