Dhaka, May 4 -- Three female passengers on an autorickshaw have died in a collision with a truck in Mymensingh's Muktagachha.

The accident occurred around 11:45am on Monday in the Montola Samity Ghar area of Kumargata on the Mymensingh-Tangail highway, according to Asaduzzaman Shakil, superintendent of police (Sadar and Muktagacha Circle) of Mymensingh.

Police were unable to immediately confirm the identities of the dead.

Witnesses said that a sand-laden truck travelling from Muktagacha to Mymensingh collided head-on with a CNG-powered autorickshaw heading toward Muktagacha. Three women died on the spot.
