Dhaka, April 27 -- A Mymensingh court has sentenced three people to death and three others to life in prison in 2014 for the murder of farmer Asrab Ali in Mymensingh's Fulpur.

The death row convicts have been identified as Noor Hossain, Shahidul, and Ujjal Mia. Sohrab Ali, Swarupa Khatun, and Rehana Khatun were sentenced to life in prison.

The court also fined Noor Hossain, Shahidul, and Ujjal Tk 30,000 each, while Sohrab, Swarupa, and Rehana were fined Tk 50,000 each. Defaulting on the payment will add six months to their prison sentences.

Judge Farhana Ferdous of the Mymensingh Special Sessions Judge's Court delivered the verdict on Monday in the presence of the accused.
