Dhaka, Feb. 27 -- Three passenger buses have been damaged in a fire in Chandpur's Matlab South Upazila.
The incident occurred on Friday night, confirmed Abu Yusuf, a Fire Service officer.
No casualties were reported as the vehicles parked at the bus stand had no passengers, he said.
According to witnesses, the fire originated from a parked "Jainpur Paribahan" bus, which typically operates on the Baburhat-Dhaka route, and rapidly spread to two adjacent vehicles.
One bus was completely gutted, while the other two were partially damaged.
The Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control with the assistance of locals, after an hour-long effort.
